Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
Horizon Science Academy uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to provide academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional support to students.
MTSS is a collaborative process used to:
- Identify student strengths and areas of need
- Provide targeted interventions and enrichment
- Monitor student progress
- Partner with families to support student success
Support strategies may include:
- small group instruction
- academic intervention
- enrichment opportunities
- attendance support
- counseling support
- behavior intervention plans
- progress monitoring
- student support team meetings
Special Education & Section 504
Horizon Science Academy provides services and supports for eligible students with disabilities in accordance with federal and state law.
Families who have concerns regarding their child’s academic progress, developmental needs, or disability-related supports are encouraged to contact school administration.
Additional information regarding special education services, Child Find, and Section 504 procedures is available through school administration and board policy.
